My research interest includes
Establishing a reliable stratigraphic framework of various sedimentary sequences deposited in the sedimentary basins of Pakistan and the application of sedimentological and biostratigraphic techniques for the hydrocarbon exploration in these basins.
Petrography (including optical and electron microscopy) of carbonate rocks and sediments combined with stable isotope and elemental geochemistry for palaeoenvironmental and paleoclimatic reconstructions, investigating links between climate and tectonics throughout the Earth history
Diagenesis of carbonate rocks and sediments for distinguishing original characteristics from secondary alterations and their implications for petroleum exploration
