Department of Sociology, University of Swabi organizes ‘Cleanliness Drive’
Department of Sociology, University of Swabi (UOS), organized a “Cleanliness Awareness Walk” at the university premises on Thursday, 9th January, 2014.
Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan inaugurated the Walk through ribbon cutting along with chairman of Sociology. Teachers and students of different departments participated in the walk.
Honorable Vice Chancellor walked along with students to raise awareness about cleanliness and to motivate students and all other people associated with University to keep surroundings clean and hygienic. The teachers and student marched on various routes at university displaying banners and placards bearing slogans about cleanliness.
Students participated in cleaning the classrooms, lawns and adjacent areas. Students placed dustbins at various places in the premises of university for awareness among people and students about importance of cleanness.
Honorable Vice Chancellor expressed her views on the occasion of this walk that she was very happy to be a part of this event. Furthermore, she expressed that such events help in creating surrounding more appealing and conducive for learning as well as in maintaining healthy living in the university. She further added that such activities should be encouraged and promoted to make the students play their role in keeping surrounding clean and neat.
The chairman of Department of Sociology owes heartiest thanks to the Honorable Vice Chancellor for joining and leading the Walk and thanks to all those who participated in the walk.
